About Catherine

I put my heart and soul into my photography, and love taking pictures.

Family and close friends are the most important thing to me. Closely followed by Twirl chocolate bars.

I love it when a bride and groom become my friends.

I enjoy taking the occasional risk, and have thrown myself out of a plane.

I'm just as content in my Jimmy Choo's as I am in my walking boots.

In my spare time, I'm a BSAC diving instructor, travel fanatic, Arabic language student, Walker, Skiier and Brownie leader, aka Barn Owl... Don't laugh!

My birthday is on Christmas Day. Ruining Mum's Midnight mass by going into labour, she had the last laugh in giving me the middle name of Holly. My gorgeous Gran's middle name was Ivy, somewhat fitting.

I don't have any children yet, but my substitute is a gorgeous Burmese cat called Jake who will often feel the need to type parts of our emails, speak up during telephone conversations and generally make his presence known.

Well, one of the first things people ask me is how I got into photography.......

After completing an Honours degree in Photographic Arts, I began a career as a press photojournalist, being sent across the UK and abroad to cover news, sport, portraits and features assignments, which took me anywhere from Bonnie Tyler's living room in Swansea, ringside at the Ultimate Fighting Championship at the O2 Arena, to the darkest slums of Kolkata.

I've been pretty lucky, and my work has been published in every national newspaper in the UK, several international titles, and many of the country's leading women's magazines. I was also runner-up in The Times Young Photographer of the Year two years running, which really helped to give me a good grounding in documentary photography. If you fancy taking a look, you can see my editorial website here.

After photographing my first wedding, I quickly became hooked on wedding photography too. It's perfect for me, as I love photographing people. It has brought me in touch with some lovely people who I'm now lucky enough to consider friends, and I've loved photographing and sharing their wedding with them.

I've also been honoured to have my wedding photography published in bridal magazines such as Brides magazine and featured on bridal blogs, and I was awarded the runner-up You & Your Wedding Magazine's Bride's Choice Award.

I currently photograph weddings throughout the U.K. and travel to photograph destination weddings each year. In order to give couples the level of attention that they deserve, I photograph a limited number of weddings each year, with an emphasis on high quality products and customer service.

Hopefully that all sounds good? If you like my style of photography and want to know more, then I'd really love to hear from you. The best way is to get in touch with me via the contact page. I will then happily send over a brochure with some more details, and it would be great to arrange an opportunity to meet and chat through your wedding plans.

All the best,

Catherine

I'm often told off for hiding behind my camera too much! Here are pictures of me aged from a chatterbox baby to now. As you can see, in addition to my clear love of pink sunglasses, spot the dog lunchboxes and questionable t-shirts, my camera's been alongside me for a while now......
